AuthenWare launches finger-tapping rhythm-recognizing behavioral authentication app

 

AuthenWare has just launched an app for behavioral biometric authentication, which is based around users tapping a few notes of their favorite song.

Called Tap a Tune, the company says this new app can replace passwords and allow users to log in to their Google account with the system which measures a users’ unique sense of rhythm.

“In today’s world, security is based on unnatural demands such as remembering complicated passwords, so we have developed a security solution that is based on music and natural rhythm, Tap a Tune, it’s easy”, Felix Racca, CEO of AuthenWare said. “Tune Tapping allows the user to have one single piece of a tune that they can use to authenticate themselves to access applications, authorize online transactions as well as authorize withdrawals from ATMs.”

According to a recent research report on the remote biometrics market, which includes behavioral measures for security, the overall market is forecasted to reach $3.2 billion by 2016, growing at a CAGR of 33%.
